Job Title: Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations for all swim school locations
• Reconcile payments from various platforms (e.g., Bpay, EFTPOS, cash)
• Prepare and issue invoices for swim lessons, merchandise, and events
• Manage payroll records and liaise with bookkeeper or payroll provider
• Track revenue and expenses across different sites and programs
• Maintain and report on club income (Shelly Swimming Club) and competition/event budgets
• Manage product cost tracking (e.g., paddles, flippers, jackets)
• Prepare monthly financial reports and contribute to budgeting
• Ensure ATO compliance, including BAS/GST lodgments (if in Australia)
• Coordinate with external accountants during tax season or audits

Requirements:
• 2+ years experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance role
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Experience in managing multiple business units or locations
• Strong understanding of Australian tax and payroll regulations
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance or related field (preferred)

Desirable Skills
• Familiarity with service businesses (e.g., education, sports, or fitness)
• Experience with inventory or cost of goods tracking
• Knowledge of club or event accounting
• Experience supporting e-commerce or online sales

Job Title: Sports Development Officer

Location: Sydney-based (Flexible travel across multiple swim school locations)

About Shelly Swimming School
Shelly Swimming School is a leading provider of swim education across seven locations in Sydney, with plans to expand further. We offer high-quality swimming programs for children aged 6 months to adults, and are passionate about safety, skill development, and fostering competitive talent. We are now establishing the Shelly Swimming Club and developing structured pathways for young swimmers to progress from beginner to competitive levels.
To support this mission, we are looking for a visionary Sports Development Officer to lead program design, athlete development, and club coordination.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement structured swimming development pathways (learn-to-swim → squad → competition)
• Support the launch and ongoing operations of the Shelly Swimming Club
• Identify, recruit, and mentor promising young swimmers into advanced squads
• Organize swim meets, mini-comps, time trials, and coordinate entries to regional/state events
• Collaborate with Head Coaches and Centre Managers across all locations to maintain program consistency
• Design athlete education resources (e.g., nutrition, training habits, mindset)
• Engage with parents and athletes regarding performance and progression
• Monitor swimmer development using performance tracking tools and assessments
• Liaise with Swimming NSW and relevant sports bodies to align with best practices and policies
• Promote inclusive participation while nurturing competitive excellence
• Assist in the promotion and development of merchandise related to competitive swimmers (e.g., flippers, paddles, team jackets)

Requirements
• Experience in swim coaching or aquatic sports development (minimum 3 years preferred)
• Strong understanding of LTAD (Long-Term Athlete Development) principles
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple programs and coordinate across locations
• Strong communication skills, especially in parent/athlete interaction
• Can speak both English and Mandarin
• Relevant qualifications in Sports Science, Coaching, PE, or similar
• AUSTSWIM/Swim Australia accreditation or equivalent (desirable)
• Working With Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Skills
• Experience launching or managing a sports club or junior competition team
• Event management experience
• Ability to create educational or promotional materials
• Passion for community-based sport and athlete development

• Evaluate new revenue streams including product sales (e.g., swim gear, merchandise) and events
• Marketing & Community
• Support marketing strategy, branding, and public relations
• Strengthen relationships with parents, local schools, community organizations, and regulatory bodies
• Represent Shelly Swimming School at key events and partnerships

Required Qualifications & Experience
• 5+ years in a senior management or general management role, ideally in education, sports, or service industries
• Proven leadership in a multi-site environment
• Strong business acumen with financial oversight experience
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
• Passion for education, child development, and sport (aquatics background a plus)
• Degree in Business, Management, Education, or related field (MBA preferred)

Desirable Experience
• Launching new service sites or managing expansions
• Familiarity with swim school operations or youth sports programs
• Experience leading customer-centric and mission-driven organizations
• Understanding of retail product management or e-commerce
